Want to chat with like-minded people in IT, in a relaxed environment? We’re hosting a regular gathering for people from underrepresented genders in IT (women, nonbinary, all trans, genderqueer, etc.)! Whether you’ve been in IT for years or are just starting out, whether you’re a professional, hobbyist, or learner, and no matter what area of IT you work with, feel free to join! This space is for you ❤

We especially welcome beginners - we want this to be an encouraging and supportive space for those of us just getting started in the field. But please note that this isn’t a class. Expect peer support, rather than formal instruction.

The main focus of this event is peer conversation and human connection, so there are no required materials! However, if you want to bring along your laptop or anything that you’re working on, do feel free! (power outlet availability may be limited, so best to come with a fully charged machine). And snacks to share are always welcome 😋

The event host, Heather, is a programmer mainly working in web development and Linux system administration, with hobby interest in other areas like game development, hardware hacking, and such. She’s passionately nerdy about many areas of technology, and aims to foster a safe, welcoming environment for people to chat and learn about IT, especially for anyone like herself whose gender (or relation to their gender) might result in them feeling out-of-place at a mainstream tech group.
